What’s next for CM Beyer: looking at the year ahead
We’ve crossed the eight-week mark and the shape of the year is starting to take form. This is a short note on what’s coming, what’s not, and how we’re thinking about pacing the business through the rest of 2026.
The Australian office goes live
We wrote a few weeks back about setting up our office in Macquarie Park, Sydney. We’re now in the final phase of practical preparation — registrations, banking, our local Schedule of Charges — and expect to launch publicly within the next four to six weeks. We’ll write about it properly then. Australian businesses already in discussions with us know who they are; for everyone else, more soon.
Early North American activity
We’ve had more interest than we expected from North American businesses, much of it inbound. We aren’t formally launching there in 2026. What we are doing is taking on a small number of carefully-scoped engagements with North American clients to learn the market properly before committing to anything bigger. If you’re a North American business reading this and you’d like a conversation, get in touch.
Two new service offers
By mid-year we’ll be launching two new offers within the existing divisions.
The first is a CMB Insight “Discovery Sprint” — a tightly scoped two-week piece of work for businesses who want to validate or sharpen a strategic question without committing to a full discovery engagement. Fixed scope, fixed price, fixed timeline. Designed for clients who want momentum more than they want exhaustive research.
The second is a CMB Core “Operational Review” — a one-month diagnostic of how a business actually runs, day to day, with a written report and recommendations at the end. Aimed at founders and management teams who suspect things could work better but aren’t sure where to start.
Both will be added to our services page when they’re ready. Existing engagement models — bespoke retainer and project work — remain available.
Hiring
We expect to hire one or two more senior consultants this year, plus a senior operations role to take some weight off the founders. We’re not announcing a recruitment campaign; hiring will continue to be relationship-driven and selective.
What we’re not doing
For balance, some things we’re explicitly not doing in 2026: we’re not opening a third international office. We’re not launching a fourth division. We’re not building a productised SaaS tool. We’re not running paid advertising for ourselves. And we’re not chasing growth that we can’t deliver against without compromising on quality.
This list is as important as the first one. The discipline of saying no to the wrong opportunities is, in our experience, what determines whether a young business is healthy two years in.
How to follow along
The news page on this site is the primary place we’ll post updates. We don’t currently send a newsletter and aren’t planning to start one. If you’d like to talk about any of the above, get in touch.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does the Australian office officially launch?
Within the next four to six weeks from publication — late May or early June 2026.
Will the new service offers replace bespoke engagements?
No. They sit alongside our existing offer. Bespoke engagements remain the bulk of our work.
Are you looking for investors?
No. CM Beyer is privately held and self-funded. We do have a small loan note offer for retail investors — see our investor page — but we’re not raising equity.
How do I stay informed?
Check the news page periodically, or get in touch if you’d like to discuss a specific opportunity.
