CM Beyer publishes ESG framework and governance commitments
CM Beyer Limited has published a comprehensive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, establishing formal commitments across environmental responsibility, social impact, and corporate governance standards.
The framework is published across three dedicated pages on the Company website:
- ESG Overview — the Company’s overall approach to responsible business, covering all three pillars plus supply chain responsibility, modern slavery commitments, and reporting transparency
- Environmental Policy — detailed commitments on energy and carbon, digital infrastructure, travel, waste minimisation, responsible procurement, and measurable environmental targets
- Corporate Governance — the Company’s governance framework, including its bespoke Articles of Association, Director’s Resolution mechanism, financial controls, regulatory compliance, data protection governance, intellectual property protection, anti-bribery policy, and whistleblowing procedures
Why ESG matters for a small consultancy
ESG frameworks are typically associated with large corporations subject to mandatory sustainability reporting. CM Beyer is not required by law to publish an ESG report, carbon disclosure, or modern slavery statement. The Company has chosen to do so voluntarily because it believes that responsible business practices should be embedded from the outset — not retrofitted when regulatory thresholds are crossed.
The framework is structured to be proportionate to the Company’s size and sector. As a professional services firm with no manufacturing or logistics operations, CM Beyer’s direct environmental footprint is modest. The Company’s commitments focus on the areas where it does have impact: digital infrastructure choices, travel policy, procurement practices, and waste minimisation.
Governance highlights
The governance section is particularly detailed, reflecting CM Beyer’s investment in a bespoke corporate structure. The Company operates under custom Articles of Association (with model articles excluded), a Director’s Resolution framework that provides a complete audit trail of all executive decisions, and a comprehensive regulatory compliance programme covering the Companies Act 2006, UK GDPR, PECR, CAP and BCAP advertising codes, consumer protection legislation, and the Bribery Act 2010.
The Company also publishes a zero-tolerance anti-bribery policy, a whistleblowing procedure protected under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998, and a full list of public filings and transparency commitments.
Ongoing commitment
The ESG framework is reviewed annually and updated as the business grows. CM Beyer acknowledges that some commitments are aspirational at this stage and is transparent about the difference between current achievements and future targets.
