CM Beyer selects IONOS as web hosting and digital infrastructure partner
CM Beyer Limited has established a hosting and infrastructure relationship with IONOS (formerly 1&1), one of Europe’s largest web hosting providers. The agreement consolidates the Company’s domain management, web hosting, business email, and SSL certification under a single provider.
Why IONOS
Selecting a hosting provider is a decision that affects site performance, email reliability, security, and the operational overhead of managing digital infrastructure. For a growing consultancy that operates client-facing websites, handles sensitive business communications by email, and needs to maintain uptime without dedicating internal resource to server management, the choice of provider matters more than most businesses realise until something goes wrong.
We evaluated several providers against a set of practical criteria: UK and EU data centre availability (important for GDPR compliance), managed WordPress hosting with adequate performance for our traffic levels, business-grade email with custom domain support, SSL included as standard, and a control panel that does not require a systems administrator to operate.
IONOS met all of these requirements. Their data centres operate within the EU, their WordPress hosting includes automated backups and malware scanning, and their business email service supports the custom domain addresses that our team uses for all client communications. The platform also supports subdomain management and multi-domain hosting, which is relevant as we scale our web presence across regions — including our Australian subsidiary at cmbeyer.com.au.
What we host
Our primary website at cmbeyer.co.uk runs on IONOS managed WordPress hosting. The Australian subsidiary site at cmbeyer.com.au is served from the same infrastructure using subdomain and domain mapping configured through the IONOS control panel. All business email addresses — including sales@, support@, accounts@, compliance@, media@, and investor@ — are hosted through IONOS business email.
Domain registration and DNS management for both cmbeyer.co.uk and cmbeyer.com.au are handled through the IONOS platform, providing a single point of management for our entire domain portfolio. SSL certificates are provisioned automatically for all domains and subdomains.
Operational benefits
Consolidating hosting, email, domains, and SSL under one provider reduces the number of vendor relationships we need to manage, simplifies billing, and means that when we need to make infrastructure changes — adding a new subdomain, configuring email forwarding, updating DNS records — it can all be done from one control panel rather than coordinating across multiple providers.
This is not a glamorous aspect of running a business, but it is a foundational one. Every email we send, every page a client visits, every form submission we receive runs through this infrastructure.
